How I’m Returning to Normal

Things are starting to feel more “pre-pandemic” around here and we are very happy about that. One big change is I’ve had the chance to meet with many clients in person. It’s always nice to connect personally and I know many clients prefer that.

As things get back to “normal,” we’ve all been urged to be deliberate and keep some of the silver linings we found this past year. On that note, I have been pleasantly surprised at how well Zoom video conferencing works for client meetings. The technology was simple for me and my clients to use, and I found it was just as possible to develop trust and rapport, which is so key to a good relationship over Zoom. Many clients also found it easier to make time for meetings when they could simply join a Zoom meeting from the comfort of their home or office. So as we return to normal, I expect to keep Zoom as a meeting option for the long term.

Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead podcast

Speaking of returning to pre-pandemic life, I’ve had many conversations with clients and friends about what returning to the office looks like and the range of responses that leaders are getting from their teams. I love Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead podcast and I found her conversation with Priya Parker particularly insightful on this topic. If managing your team’s re-entry to the office is on your plate, I highly recommend giving it a listen!
